Dream Interpretation
Your Dreams Are Important
Dream interpretation is an excellent tool to get to the bottom
of what is really going on in the subconscious mind. It is nature's
way of releasing pent up emotional traumas as once the dream comes
to the conscious mind it can be dealt with. While it stays buried
it deep in the psyche it continues to cause nervous tension and
anxiety plus inability to cope with ones everyday life. So dreams
are an important tool for solving every day problems in every area
of life.
Expression of dreams and the symbols involved goes back to humankind's
very beginnings. The person most talked about concerning dreams
symbols is the philosopher /psychiatrist Jung who taught us about
archetypes.
There are basically 4 categories or types of dreams:
1) Past Life
2) Astral
3) Prophetic
4) Nightly
Past life, astral dreams which are really our spiritual body going
on a trip somewhere with a part of our consciousness attached (the
true intellect lies in the spirit body) prophetic dreams and the
normal every night dream.
We all have archetypes that we dream of often - people we admire
or look up to who become a part of our own psyche and represent
a little part of us in our dreams.
Dream symbols are wonderful. Sometimes the messages that come from
our higher self are very obvious and are usually "a play on
words". Most people we dream of are an aspect of ourselves.
For example, a teacher that we know may be the "teacher"
or wise part of ourselves. A friend may be the qualities we have
that we admire in him or her.
If we dream of a house it is our very self. Each room in the house
represents a different part of us. A car or train is our journey
through life. Water represents emotions. Rabbits and cats relate
to our sexual desires. Tobacco means comfort in some cases. Food
is spiritual nourishment as a rule.
Having a dream catcher by the bed will help the dreamer to remember
dreams but they should be written down as soon as you wake up or
they will disappear from the conscious mind. The dream catcher will
also help to prevent nightmares as they "catch" the negative
aspects of the dream and tone them down a little.
Dreams are fun to interpret and I love doing it. If you have any
questions relating to a dream - particularly those that tend to
reoccur, please feel free to send me an email for an interpretation.
